New Series: No ID Required Bars! 21 Innovative Food Stations

Not looking for the formality of the plated meal? Not interested in cafeteria feel of the traditional buffet? Food Stations have been around for a while, typically you will see them as a Chef's carving station, but caterers, resorts, and planners are answering the call for more inovative cuisine!

So for the next 21 weeks (21 being the legal age for bars- seemed only appropriate), I will feature a new food station or bar concept for you to enjoy and hopefully get inspiration for your big celebration! Check back every Monday for a new creative way to wow your guests with food!

Love is in the air all year long!

So many of my clients ask me ideas for their gifts to each other- so I thought I would post some of my favorite ideas! Feel free to wow your sweeties with them!

There are tons of resources for gifts. But I think one of the most important things about this gift - it's given to each other to celebrate how far you've come and what a great adventure you are about to start....
And that beautiful wedding day is just that- one day. Want a great way to remember why you decided to say I DO? Sign your sweetie up for a club. Imagine once a month having a delivery sent right to you and your new spouse once a month that is a reminder all year long of what a wonderful time you had tying the knot! And there are so many to chose from!
1. Wine of the month...pop the cork on your new bottle of pinot!
2. Beer of the month...newest trend in food pairing!
3. Dessert of the month...remember your dessert buffet from your wedding??
4. Hot sauce of the month...spicy it up baby!
5. Cookies of the month...sweets for you and your sweetie!
6. Flowers of the month...remember her face the first time you brought her flowers?
7. Coffee of the month...you two meet at starbucks?
8. Candle club...light up your bedroom!
9. Perfume of the month....love smells so sweet!
10 Can't decide... Variety club...mix and match your romance!

Happy 13!

So many superstitions lie aroud the unluckiest day of the year -Friday the 13th. And for those fortuante and UNSUPERSTITIOUS brides, there are 3 Friday the 13ths in 2009! Two have already passed, February and March, but for those of you still looking for a date have the best month left- November!

But where did all the hoopla come from around this mysterious date? Well here is what I found from good ol' Wikipedia:

1.In numerology, the number twelve is considered the number of completeness, as reflected in the twelve months of the year, twelve signs of the zodiac, twelve hours of the clock, twelve tribes of Israel, twelve Apostles of Jesus, twelve gods of Olympus, etc., whereas the number thirteen was considered irregular, transgressing this completeness.

2. Friday has been considered an unlucky day at least since the 14th century's The Canterbury Tales[6], and many other professions have regarded Friday as an unlucky day to undertake journeys or begin new projects. Black Friday has been associated with stock market crashes and other disasters since the 1800s

Hence, the combo of Friday and 13, has been known as an unlucky day!

For the gals still looking for their perfect place...this will be your luckiest ( and best bargain) day of the year! But the clock is ticking and you better book now!

Foodie...

I have to say if I weren't a planner ..I would have to be a food critic. I am such a foodie. I love food. I cannot tell you how blessed I am to have a job that puts me in front of great caterers, new clubs, and amazing resorts on a regular basis! I have the best undercover foodie career!

Just this week: Lunch with Melanie at Arizona Grand Resort, Lunch with Heather Sloane of Eventfully Yours, Dinner with my client Eliana at Maria Maria with her new DJ -Adrian from CS Productions, Cocktails at Troon North Golf Club with Kim from The Event Essentials, Wendy of Sacred Moments, Alesha of A Day to Cherish, sweets at Desert Botanical with my favorite gals in the red rocks twice each time hanging out with the crew from Heidi's Events and Catering and last but certainly not least dinner at Pita Jungle with Drew from Heidi's and his Andy (please refer to pictures 2 blogs ago)... And guys...it's only Wednesday!

So I'm just taking a moment to be thankful for fabulous people and fabulous food!

Cheers!
